Discovering your unique gifts apparently helps to uncover your message. Sounds like an interesting tactic.

Yesterday's search for a message left me wanting more, so I dug a bit further. Apparently there's this theme about finding your gifts (or strengths) that gets right to the heart of the matter. And I think it kinda did, but I'll need to test the hypothesis before drawing any solid conclusions.
In the meantime, I'd like to share some sources with you, in case you wanted to investigate this path yourself. "Gifts" seem to have a lot more gems and guideposts than messages. They seem somewhat related to me, so I'm not sure why searching for one doesn't automatically summon the other; but instead of griping I'll just offer a connection here to encourage the trend for the future.
When the messages said "3 steps," it was mostly recycled and unhelpful information. In contrast, finding your gifts or strengths seems to have greater ease fitting into the three step model.
In an article from nextavenue.org, you can follow these steps (that are simple, but thorough) to work out your gifts. It seems really straight to the point, guiding you through the mind's complexity to find that gem within.
I found this one less comprehensive (ironically) in guiding me through my mind, but it has merits worth mentioning here. Further peeling back on passions and values, the article also mentions a 'strengths assessment' you may find revealing.
Honestly, out of the ten or so pages I found, those were the only ones worth noting. There's a lot of thoughtful articles to give you perspective, but none of them contain any real assistance in finding it for yourself. Saying 'just do it' doesn't give you a place to start, no matter how pumped up you may be from their fancy words.
What about you? Have you found other helpful sources to guide you to your gifts? Comment below, on Facebook or Twitter - I'd love to add good sources to the list!
As I begin this anew, I know only one thing: that I know nothing. Learn with me, and together we will figure this out.
